My wife, Erica, and I reside in Raytown and hold a deep affection for our close-knit community. Active members of Raytown Baptist Church, we both contribute locally—Erica manages a dry cleaning company in Lake Oconee, while I proudly serve as a Deputy Sheriff in Wilkes County. Additionally, I am a dedicated Taliaferro County volunteer firefighter, and together, we own and operate a small lawn care company.

Since settling in Taliaferro County in 2019, my roots in this region extend far into the past. The Pierce, Stevens, and Moore families, my own kin, have been integral to this area for centuries. Born at Wills Memorial in 1977, I spent a significant portion of my life immersed in the community, sharing memorable moments at my great-grandparents' place on Hillman Road. My Great-Granddaddy, James “Butch” Pierce, a familiar face from his extensive work in the elections office, resided on Sandy Cross Road and attended Sandy Cross Baptist Church with my Great-Grandmother, Mrs. Evelyn (Moore) Pierce. Erica and I, parents to six grown children and grandparents to two, cherish our family bonds in nearby counties.

With a steadfast commitment to public service spanning three decades, I am a decorated combat veteran of the United States Army, with multiple tours in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kuwait. My service extends to over 25 years as a volunteer firefighter and medical first responder, while my law enforcement journey began in 2001.

During my military tenure, I achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant, leading and mentoring exceptional men and women. I played a vital role in training members of the Afghan National Army’s 3-5 Kandak, the Afghan Presidential Security Team, and served on our Brigade Commander’s Personal Security Detachment. As a firefighter and first responder, I managed diverse critical incidents, showcasing my dedication to community well-being.

In law enforcement, I have witnessed individuals at both their best and worst. My prosecutorial successes range from those endangering our communities with illegal activities to recovering kidnapped children and aiding victims of human trafficking. My accolades include recognition as the top DUI enforcer in my agency and the recovery of countless stolen properties for citizens.

My extensive experience is complemented by a genuine commitment to mentorship, whether guiding youth, soldiers, community members, or fellow deputies. I am passionate about our county, and I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to serve every individual—regardless of strength, age, or health. Safety, security, and accountability will be the cornerstones of my tenure as your Sheriff.

My leadership, mentorship, and law enforcement experience are products of hands-on learning—an education gained only through actively performing the duties of the job. As someone who has taken oaths to serve at the federal, state, and local levels, I assure you that my commitment holds true. I pledge to faithfully serve each member of our community, without bias, to uphold the safety and prosperity of Taliaferro County.

I extend my sincere appreciation to each of you.
